HangTrace is provided as-is and intended to help diagnose software hangs. There is no promise of correctness, completeness, or fitness for a specific purpose.

Acceptable use

  • Use on systems you own or have explicit permission to troubleshoot.
  • Follow your organization’s incident response and change-control policies.
  • Be careful with minidumps and ETW traces: they may contain sensitive data.

Security & privacy note

Reports, ETL traces, and dumps can include file paths, module names, memory contents, and other sensitive artifacts. Treat them as confidential, store them securely, and share only with trusted parties.
